On
their way to the Fleet Center on Tuesday, Josephine and Marc walked
through the Boston Commons and talked with demonstrators and others who
had gathered in the park.


A spine, being held aloft and carried around the
Commons. Demonstrators were urging presumptive Democratic
presidential nominee John Kerry to "get some backbone."


Kevin Ksen of Worcester, Massachusetts, spoke during
his WDFH interview about his opposition to the concentration of power in a
single large corporation called Seaboard, and the effects that has had in
Argentina.

Adam Mandell (L) spoke about his opposition to a
proposed biological weapons lab at Boston University.

Rick Maida of Maynard, Massachusetts, said that the
official protest area (the so-called "free speech zone" — a very
unsettling name) was sort of "pointless."
